For more than three decades, Simon Jaxx has shaped the pulse of electronic music — not from the spotlight, but from the engine room of the culture. A quiet architect. A relentless innovator. A storyteller whose medium is vibration, groove, and the electricity between people on a dancefloor.
His journey begins long before the clubs, long before the machines — with a five‑year‑old child at the piano, a violin balanced on his shoulder, and an instinctive understanding that music is emotion in motion. These early years forged the foundation of a musician who would later merge classical sensitivity with the raw futurism of electronic sound.
In the early 1990s, Detroit techno struck him like a revelation. Its mechanical soul, its stripped‑down honesty, its promise of a new sonic language opened a door that would never close again. Simon dove into analog synthesizers, improvisation, and the art of sculpting frequencies by hand — a devotion that would define his life’s work.
By 1996, he stepped onto the stage with his first live act, Shock Hazard, created together with Christian Kurz. It was more than a debut — it was an ignition point, marking Simon’s entry into the international underground.
Two years later, in 1998, he founded Bunka Records, distributed by NEUTON Offenbach. The label quickly became a trusted source for the world’s most respected DJs. Damon Wilde, Claude Young, Steve Bug, Felix Da Housecat, Justin Berkovi, Joey Beltram, Ellen Allien, Pig & Dan — the list of supporters reads like a hall of fame. Bunka wasn’t just a label; it was a seal of authenticity.
Never one to stand still, Simon launched Frequently Music in 2008 — a platform dedicated to nurturing emerging talent and strengthening the global DJ and club community.
Between 2018 and 2019, Simon collaborated with Ilker from Bremen to create strictly limited, art‑driven vinyl editions — handcrafted collector’s pieces that became coveted treasures among underground connoisseurs.
In 2024, he unveiled GOOD VIBES, an event series created with BAB C from Karlsruhe — a celebration of community, groove, and the timeless spirit of club culture. A reminder that the dancefloor is not just a place, but a feeling.
Today, Simon Jaxx is more than a DJ, producer, or label founder.
He is a guardian of analog magic.
A craftsman of hypnosis and melody.
A visionary whose sets weave emotion, tension, and groove into a single flowing narrative.
A pioneer who honors the past, shapes the present, and continues to carve the future — always with heart, depth, and an unshakable devotion to the music.
